The Government College of Nursing, Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata, is one of India’s oldest and most prestigious nursing institutes, established in 1835 as part of the Medical College Hospital. It received official permission to offer the B.Sc. Nursing course in 2005 from the government and in 2006 from the Indian Nursing Council (INC). The college later added Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing courses, obtaining approvals from the government and INC in 2008 and 2010, respectively. The institution is known for its high academic standards and has a record of 100% academic results. Many students have been awarded gold medals for being university toppers in West Bengal. The college is dedicated to preparing knowledgeable and skilled nurses who can provide quality and comprehensive healthcare services.
