Education is both a ladder to opportunity and a key to personal growth, however, many talented students find their aspirations compromised because of financial hardship. To address this challenge, the Government of West Bengal has introduced a transformative initiative, Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM). Named after one of India’s greatest philosophers and visionaries, this scholarship is more than just financial aid, it is a tribute to Vivekananda’s belief in the power of youth and education.
Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM) aims to support academically meritorious students coming from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. It helps to finance their education and enables them to pursue their dreams without interruption. More than a welfare measure, SVMCM plays a strategic role to reduce dropout rates, enhance employability and promote inclusive socio-economic development across West Bengal. It highlights the state’s commitment to bridging educational gaps and nurturing potential through meaningful support.
